Leg and Foot Ulcer Treatment in Indiana and Illinois
Ulcers are open sores or wounds that heal slowly, or continue to return. leg and foot ulcers can often be painful; other symptoms include open sores, pus and pain, swelling, and generalized pain in the affected limbs.
Ulcers are often the result of poor circulation. People with diabetes are at particular risk; left untreated, diabetic foot ulcers can often necessitate amputation. Heart disease, high cholesterol, smoking, high blood pressure and kidney disease will also put people at additional risk.
At NG Vascular & Vein Center, our goal is limb preservation and amputation prevention. We have significant experience and tools to open those clogged blood vessels to help heal those sores and wounds on your feet. In addition, we can care for wounds on the legs and feet that have not healed properly or are healing too slowly.
NG Vascular offers advanced wound care services including:

Debridement
This is the process of removing damaged or infected tissue from a wound to promote healing and lower the risk of injection. Using techniques like mechanical, chemical and autolytic debridement, we remove the unhealthy tissue that can hinder the healing process.
Wound Grafts
We offer minimally invasive wound grafts to help heal leg and foot ulcers with less discomfort and scarring than surgical wound grafts. Epidermal skin substitute grafts (ESGs) harvest only the epidermal layer of skin, requiring no anesthesia and resulting in minimal scarring at the donor site.
Pulse Ultrasonic Therapy
This non-invasive method uses ultrasound waves, delivered in timed pulses, to stimulate cellular activity and increase blood flow to the wound site. This helps promote and accelerate wound healing by enhancing tissue regeneration and is often used with chronic or difficult-to-heal wounds like diabetic ulcers.
