Radiofrequency Ablation, or RFA, is a simple, non-surgical way to treat varicose veins. It uses heat from radio waves to close a problem vein, so blood can move through healthier veins instead. Your doctor uses ultrasound to see exactly where to treat. The result is less pain, less swelling, and a quick return to your everyday life.
Restore Healthy Blood Flow with a Gentle Vein Treatment

What is Radiofrequency Ablation?
Radiofrequency ablation is a treatment that uses controlled radio wave energy to gently heat and seal a damaged vein from the inside. Once the vein is closed, your body naturally sends blood through other healthy veins. The procedure is done with numbing medicine, and there are no large cuts. It is a safe and comfortable option for many people.
Conditions Treated with RFA
Radiofrequency Ablation may be recommended for several venous conditions, including:
- Varicose veins
- Chronic venous insufficiency
- Venous ulcers
- Leg swelling and discomfort
If you are feeling leg pain, heaviness, or swelling, you may benefit from RFA treatment.

How is RFA Performed?
This minimally invasive procedure is done right in our office. After numbing a small area of skin, your doctor inserts a thin tube called a catheter into the problem vein, using ultrasound as a guide. Radiofrequency energy is then sent through the catheter to warm the vein and seal it shut. The whole treatment usually takes 30 to 60 minutes per leg. You can walk right after, go home the same day, and get back to light activities within a day or two.
Not Sure If RFA Is Right for You?
If leg pain, swelling, or bulging veins sound familiar, taking the first step is easy. Use our quick questionnaire to see if your symptoms match what RFA can help with. It takes only a few minutes and points you in the right direction. You can also call our friendly team to set up a consultation. We are here to help you get back to comfortable legs and an active life.
