Dr. Haroon Afridi
Vascular & Interventional Radiologist
Dr. Haroon Afridi is a board-certified Vascular and Interventional Radiologist with more than two decades of experience in advanced image-guided procedures and diagnostic radiology. Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology since 2003, Dr. Afridi specializes in minimally invasive treatments for a wide range of vascular and non-vascular conditions, helping patients achieve effective outcomes with less pain, shorter recovery times, and fewer complications.
Dr. Afridi has practiced across the United States and internationally, holding leadership and attending roles at major healthcare institutions. He previously served as Chief of Interventional Radiology at Radiology Consultants of Iowa from 2019 to 2022, where he helped guide clinical practice development, procedural protocols, and interventional services across multiple hospitals. He currently provides interventional radiology services at specialty centers and hospitals across the country, including interventional radiology, prostate, orthopedic, and hemorrhoid treatment centers.
Dr. Afridi completed his Fellowship in Angiography and Interventional Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital through Harvard Medical School. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Baystate Medical Center, the western campus of Tufts University School of Medicine, where he also served as Chief Resident. His medical training began with internships in internal medicine in New York and earlier medical and surgical training at Khyber Medical College in Pakistan, where he earned his medical degree.
Throughout his career, Dr. Afridi has been actively involved in research, teaching, and professional leadership. He has published peer-reviewed research in Emergency Radiology and has presented work at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). He regularly teaches medical students and healthcare professionals and has delivered lectures on interventional radiology practices and procedures.
Dr. Afridi is licensed to practice medicine in numerous states including Indiana, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, Nebraska, Colorado, Alabama, Tennessee, Ohio, and Iowa, as well as in the United Kingdom through the General Medical Council.
He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Medical Association. He is also affiliated with international radiology societies including the British Society of Interventional Radiology and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe.
Dr. Afridi is fluent in English, Pashto, and Urdu and is committed to delivering patient-centered care through the latest minimally invasive techniques in vascular and interventional medicine.
